Air moves through a slowly-rotating slotted nozzle to gently fluidize the sample in a 200mm diameter sieve. Exit air flow carries undersize particles downward to a collection canister. Multiple particle sizes are determined by starting with the finest sieve. Retained sample is then transferred to the next larger sieve size. Air jet action is gentle, effective, and especially useful for fragile or low specific gravity materials. Test times vary, but are typically one to five minutes for a 510g sample, or up to five to ten minutes for fine micron sizes. Digital timer and vacuum controls assure reproducibility of results. Sieves are ordered separately by mesh sizes required. Sieves are constructed with stainless steel frame and mesh, and are supplied with sealing gaskets. The Cyclone Collector is an alternate means of collecting undersize sieve fractions efficiently.
